Rural Healthcare Initiative
At STEM-med, our Rural Healthcare Initiative focuses on bridging the gap in medical access for underserved rural communities, beginning with Vermilion County, Illinois.
Current Goal
Our current goal is to contribute to addressing the opioid crisis in Vermilion County.
- Raise Community Awareness: We will run a social media campaign to attempt to educate masses on what you can personally do to contribute.
- Build Local Partnerships: Connect with healthcare providers, clinics, and organizations to collaborate on improving access to life saving remedys like Narcan.
- Gather and Share Data: Collect local health statistics and community insights to inform and direct action.
- Distribute Narcan: Broaden access to the life saving medication Narcan that reverses opioids like heroin, fentanyl, and oxycodone.
